The CDS includes the updated "Generator SPECTRA Update - Issue 8" prepared by Opus International Consulting. The 2010 Spectra Update is in the same format as the previous updates published in the Centralised dataset. Issue 8 includes two more years of flow data extending to 30 June 2010, various corrections and improvements to the data, and a report describing the information provided The OPUS report (final draft) is included in this directory, along with a note 'Inflow description.doc' on the use of these inflow sequences in SDDP modelling. The flow datasets are included in various formats. Flow files in SDDP format (prepared by the Authority) are also provided. Error reports and corrections are invited - please provide feedback to jack.mcconchie@opus.co.nz, copied to matthew.keir@ea.govt.nz. The Authority thanks Genesis Energy, Meridian Energy, Mighty River Power, Contact Energy, Trustpower, Todd Energy, the King Country Power Company, and Pioneer Generation for supporting the project and providing data. The Authority also thanks the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) for supplying data from the Water Resources Archive (funded by PGSF). Any further data updates before the next CDS will be published on the Authority website (in the Centralised Dataset area) and notified in the Authority's Market Brief. -------------------------------------------------------------------- A summarised monthly flow dataset, denominated in GWh rather than cumecs for users' convenience, ia also included. See summaries_gwh.txt. The data is divided into seventeen hydro systems (Waikato, Waikaremoana, TPD, Matahina, Mangahao, Kaimai, Aniwhenua, Wheao/Flaxy, Patea, Waitaki, Clutha, Manapouri, Cobb, Coleridge, Waipori, Highbank, Branch). The conversion to GWh is necessarily approximate. Use the original cumec data for any analysis where high precision is needed. The conversion factors are based on the current hydro system; they would not be correct for past or future time periods where the system was configured differently. --------------------------------------------------------------------
