Nodal prices and volumes are extracted from final pricing SPD case files and published here daily.
Volumes include megawatts of load by point of connection and generation by point of connection and unit. More precisely, these values represent the average rate of megawatts during the trading period but can easily be converted to energy volumes by dividing by two. If the unit symbol ends in a zero, the 'unit' is likely representing many generating units at that point of connection. Load is given to SPD whereas generation or dispatch is determined by the model. Nodal prices are also included in each file.
The P, I, and F suffix in the file name denotes whether the SPD case file is associated with provisional, interim, or final prices, respectively. Once final prices are published and the F suffix is appended to the file name, all other price and volume files for that day will be removed. See here for the explanation of why the file name might include an 'x' immediately before the suffix.

Datasets are collections of files that often contain large volumes of data and are available for immediate download. Dataset users are typically analysts familiar with the electricity industry and have a need to obtain a large set of data or specific data on a regular basis.

Alternative methods are supported to connect to EMI datasets. These methods better facilitate downloading many files or automating regular downloads. See here for more information.
